Belonging
Between moor and sea
A solo exhibition of kiln-formed glass landscapes exploring what it means to find home through place.
Although I’m best known for wearable art and landscape pendants, this exhibition marks a shift into larger landscape panels — creating space for wider horizons, changing weather and a deeper sense of atmosphere.
Raised in a military family, frequent moves meant roots were difficult to establish. Even when homes lasted for years, there was often an underlying sense that another move might come. In later life, that pattern continued through relocating for work. Living in Devon has felt different: a place where movement has gradually given way to belonging.
“We came for the sea, but fell for the moor.”
Inspired by Dartmoor and the Devon coast, the work captures fleeting moments of light, weather and place. Each piece is built from four layers of glass, carefully composed and fused in the kiln. As the layers merge, colours soften and blend — creating depth, movement and a moment held in glass.
